I did the Everest Three Pass Trek for the first time last year, and it was one of the best choices I ever made. I had read that the best time to do the Everest Three Pass Trek is during spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November). I picked October, and it turned out to be just perfect. The sky was clear, the weather was dry, and the views were amazing. I could see Everest, Lhotse, and many other big mountains almost every day.
The trek is long and hard, but full of rewards. It goes through three high passes. They are Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m), and Renjo La (5,360m). These are some of the highest trekking passes in Nepal. The whole route took me about 19 days. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, only around 8,000 people try the three passes each year. That made the trail less crowded than Everest Base Camp, which was great for someone like me who enjoys peace.
I remember walking through quiet valleys, seeing yaks, crossing swinging bridges, and drinking hot soup in small lodges. The mornings were cold, but the views of the sun touching the snow-covered peaks made me forget the chill. I took it slow and listened to my guide. The key is to stay safe and enjoy each moment.
Meeting locals was another highlight. Their simple way of living and warm hearts touched me deeply. I also met other trekkers, each with their own story, and we all shared the same goal—to complete the three passes.
If you are planning your first big trek and want real adventure, pick the Everest Three Pass Trek during spring or autumn. The weather is just right, the paths are dry, and the views are out of this world. I came back home tired but full of joy and proud of what I had done.
